Rev’d 3/30/09 HUNGARY CREEK RECREATION ASSOCIATION RULES AND REGULATIONS Your pool and the other facilities are operated for the enjoyment of all members. Therefore, it is essential that all members and their guest observe the rules and regulations, which are established for the benefit of all. In order for our members to receive maximum enjoyment and safety while using our facilities, it is essential that all members of your family and your guest are aware of what is expected of them. Your assistance in complying with the following rules will be helpful. GENERAL 1. All membership fees, annual dues, and charges must be paid in full prior to the use of the Association’s facilities. 2. Hours of operation will be posted for the season. 3. The entire facilities of the Association are under the direct supervision of the Pool Manager. The pool Manager may delegate the responsibility for enforcing the rules to the staff members. All of these individuals have been instructed to enforce the rules and regulations and they are authorized to take such steps as necessary to ensure proper conduct. The Pool Manager is directly accountable to the Board of Directors. 4. Under no circumstances will anyone use the pool at any time other than the scheduled hours when lifeguards are on duty. 5. The Association will not be responsible for any money or property loss sustained by members of their guest when using the Association’s facilities. 6. Members are requested to instruct their children and guests’ children in personal hygiene and instruct them to use the restroom facilities in the bathhouse. 7. Admittance to the Association’s facilities for members is by identification cards of listing on file at the pool. The cards of listing will contain the name, address, and telephone number of each family member and birth dates of each child in the family. 8. All members and their guests are required to sign in with the gate attendant upon entering the pool facilities. 9. Children under twelve (12) years of age must be accompanied someone 16yrs or older. 10. Anyone required to sit out three (3) times within one week by the HCRA staff, regardless of their age, will only be allowed to return with adult supervision for the rest of the year. 11. No one over six (6) years of age is allowed to use the wading pool (baby pool). 12. Members may bring small snack items from home into the pool enclosure. Cups, wrappers, and refuse must be placed in trash containers provided. NO GLASS or any kind-jar, bottles, etc. - is permitted in the pool enclosure. 13. The Pool Manager has the authority to vacate all persons from the pool deck area if, at his discretion, pool enclosure is in a condition to endanger the health and safety of the members. The pool will remain vacated until the condition is corrected. 14. During (before hours) swim team practice and swim lessons, the pool is closed for open swimming. A designated area within the pool enclosure will be assigned to persons providing transportation for the above individuals, as ling as they do not interfere with swimming instructors. 15. No face masks with glass faces allowed in the pool at any time. 16. ACCIDENTS: Report to the Pool Manager immediately, so a report can be filled out. 17. No smoking is allowed inside the fenced swimming area. CONDUCT 1. Running, pushing, dunking, and rough play, as judged by the Pool Manager of guards, are prohibited inside the pool at all times. 2. Approved life jackets may be worn in the pool. No balls, inner tubes, water wings or others toy are allowed in the pool area beyond the 3.5 foot depth, except, with the approval of the Pool Manager. 3. The following rules must be observed in the diving well of the pool: a) The diving well must be used for diving only. No diving off the sides of the diving well. b) Under no circumstances are non-swimmers allowed in the diving area. c) Only one person allowed on the diving board at a time. d) No swimming in front of the diving board e) No hanging from the edge of the diving board. f) No excessive springing on the diving board is allowed. g) No facemasks or goggles allowed in the diving well h) Do not move the fulcrum on the diving board 4. Everyone must leave the pool in the event of an emergency. The signal for this is three blasts from the lifeguard’s whistle. 5. The lifeguard will exercise general supervision over the wading pool, but is not responsible for anyone inside the wading pool enclosure. 6. No beer or other alcoholic beverages may be consumed, with the exception of an adult night function, unless consumed in the picnic area. 7. No use of illegal drugs or drug paraphernalia will be allowed on the Association’s premises. Any violation of this rule will be subject to immediate suspension and possible expulsion by the Board of Directors. 8. No one in an intoxicated state will be allowed on the Association’s premises. 9. Special rules for the use of other recreational facilities will be posted on the bulletin board and must be complied with. AUTOMOBILES, MOTORCYCLES, ETC. 1. Everyone must exercise extreme care in driving, both in the driveway and the parking. lot, and anyone operating a vehicle in a careless manner will be dealt with according to the severity of the offense. 2. Members and guests are requested to park their cars in an orderly fashion for the maximum utilization of the parking facilities. 3. Parking is prohibited at all times on other than the Association’s parking lot. 4. An area will be provided for bicycles. 5. No unregistered motor vehicles will be allowed on the premises. PICNIC AREA 1. Waste food, trash, etc. must be put in the trash containers, and the tables and grounds left clean after use. 2. Tables must not be moved out of place without proper permission of the Pool Manager or the senior lifeguard. 3. No group may reserve a portion of the picnic area for a period in excess of one (1) hour without permission of the Pool Manager. POOL GUEST 1. Fees for guests are five dollars ($5) per person per day. 2. Seven (7) day guest pass is twenty-five dollars ($25) (Available at concession) 3. A member who is at least 14 years of age must accompany all guests. See general rule 10 for restrictions. 4. Due to over-crowding, misconduct, or for the safety of members, all guest privileges or the guest privileges of certain individuals may be temporarily suspended by the Pool Manager. NOTE: Members are requested to refrain from bringing guest on holidays and weekends in June and early July to help alleviate potential overcrowding. BABY-SITTER POLICY 1. For Non-member sitters, the cost shall be $50.00 and the baby-sitter pass will be presented to the sitter. The pass will be valid each day that the pool is open. 2. For non-member children, the cost shall be $50.00 per child. (limit 2) This pass will only be valid Monday through Friday. The request for this must be accompanied by two recent photos of the child. One photo will be used for a photo ID that must be presented by the member sitter to gain access to the pool for the child. The second photo will be kept at the gate. Children 4 years of age and under are not required to present a photo ID. TENNIS Only members and their guests may play. During the pool season, the following tennis rules apply: 1. Guest fee: $5.00 (This fee only allows use of the tennis courts, whereas the pool guest fee allows use of both the pool and tennis courts). 2. Summer tennis guest pass available for court use only- $50.00 (available at concession) 3. When the court is reserved, the name of any guests playing must be given. The member and guest must check in with the gate-keeper before playing to pay the guest fee and register the guest. If the member and guest play before 12:p.m. or after 8:00pm the member is still responsible for making sure that the fee is paid and the guest is registered. 4. When the pool is not open (Labor Day to Memorial Day) guests must still be accompanied by members, but there is no fee or registration required. TENNIS continued 5. Players must wear tennis shoes on the courts. 6. Adults have priority after 5:00 p.m. weekdays and all day on weekends and holidays. 7. Courts are assigned on a reservation basis during the pool season only. Members may reserve a court for up to two days in advance. This rule is waived in the event of tournaments or tennis team matches or lessons. During the off season, court use is on a first come, first serve basis. 8. Courts may be reserved for a maximum of 1-1/2 hours for single and doubles. This rule is waived in the event of tournaments, tennis team matches, or lessons. 9. Only players are allowed on the courts. No spectators, non-players, food, or glass containers are allowed inside fences. SWINGS 1. No standing on the swings or climbing on the structure. 2. Anyone abusing the equipment will be asked to leave the premises and disciplinary action will be considered. 3. Show courtesy to those waiting to use the swings by not over-extending your turn. BASKETBALL/VOLLEYBALL COURT The management of the basketball/volleyball court is under the complete control of the Pool Manager or, in his/her absence, the Assistant Manager. Any violation of these rules, not being properly administered by the staff (whether intentionally of unintentionally), should be reported to the Pool Manager or the Board (if manager is not available) giving complete details of or objections to the incident in writing and mailed to Hungary Creek Recreation Association, P.O. Box 31604, Richmond Va. 23294. The Board will investigate each incident and take such action as deemed necessary. THE PENALTY FOR VIOLATION OF ANY OF THE RULE LISTED WILL BE DETERMINIED BY THE APPROPRIATE STAFF AND/OR BOARD MEMBERS. ________________________________________________________________________
